Back at Aquatica: Why I Keep Coming Back to San Antonio’s Waterpark
If you’ve been following the channel for a while, you know I’m always on the hunt for things to do around Texas. And while I love finding new spots, sometimes you just have to go back to a favorite—especially when it’s 100+ degrees outside. So, I packed up (again) and headed back to Aquatica in San Antonio.
Why Aquatica?
- It’s one of the best waterparks in Texas, hands down.
- There’s something for everyone: lazy rivers, big slides, and a ton of spots to just chill.
- It’s attached to SeaWorld, so you can double up if you’re feeling ambitious (or just want to get your money’s worth).
What’s Changed Since My Last Visit?
Honestly, not a ton—and that’s a good thing. Aquatica is one of those places that gets the basics right every time:
- Clean park: Staff is always out and about, keeping things tidy.
- Friendly vibes: Everyone’s there to have a good time, and it feels like it.
- Consistent rides: My favorites (Stingray Falls and Taumata Racer) are still running strong.
My Top 2 Things to Do at Aquatica (Every Time)
- Loggerhead Lane: Lazy river, Texas style. It’s the best way to cool off and people-watch.
- Big Surf Shores: They call it a wave pool, but it’s basically the closest thing we get to a beach in San Antonio. Grab a tube, float, and let the waves do the work.
Tips If You’re Going
- Bring your own towels (theirs are pricey).
- Wear water shoes—the pavement gets HOT.
- Lockers are worth it if you’re carrying electronics.
- Don’t forget sunscreen. I missed a spot. I regret it.
Final Thoughts
I keep coming back to Aquatica because it’s reliable fun. The park does what it promises: keeps you cool, gives you a thrill, and lets you relax—all in the same day. Whether you’re local or just passing through San Antonio, it’s worth a visit (or a repeat visit, in my case).
